When asked what got her started making dolls, Pauline commented......

"Way back in the mid eighties I decided to take a class in reproduction doll making.  It wasn't that I especially had a desire to make dolls, but I had recently lost twin baby girls at birth, and needed to do something.  As it turned out, I loved working with the little porcelain faces, and it wasn't long before I felt that I would like to try and sculpt a face myself.  Over the years I have read all I can about sculpting, mold making and the rest of the skills needed in doll making, and I am still striving to create that perfect child.  I guess when I finally do, it will be time to quit!  It is amazing how much you can learn from books.  I have had no formal Sculpting or Art training, but somehow my hands seem to work well with the clay - a gift I guess".

In 1997 Bob & I met, and we now work full time together .  I sculpt, Bob makes the molds and does most of the pouring, we both clean the greenware, and I do all the painting.  It is a real team effort!
